Home networking, has for some proved a little, underwhelming. While we have the devices to amass digital media, we also want to the freedom to do things like move the computer round the house while we use them. That's where the problems come in. It can actually be pretty complex to get all of these devices to work together and form a home network.
Most home users, understandably, simply don't want to have to deal with the level of complexity and knowledge required to run music or video across cables, and so frustratingly don't manage to use the gadgets and gizmo's that they imagined themselves enjoying.
Sadly it's not only home networking that can hit a glitch. The Wi-fi world is enormously useful when working from home and yet many users remain frustrated when it comes to grappling with ID numbers, wireless speeds and bandwidth problems. Equally many users forget to secure their connections, leaving them open to abuse from rogue neighbours keen to access the net for free. While that doesn't sound like too much of an issue, if anyone uses your connection for dubious reasons, you will be liable, as the account holder, for the content downloaded-not them.
We are some way off from being in the ideal scenario of being able to choose a product, take it home, plug it in and it works...but in the meantime, should you want to use your devices to their full advantage contact tlp to talk about how we could help you install a home network that does everything you want it to.
